Boag backs Burgh for season ahead

29/07/2021

Dryburgh Athletic Women are delighted to announce the re-signing of Laura Boag for the 2021/22 Championship North season.

Laura has been the club captain since joining Dryburgh in 2018, at the inception of the Women’s team.

A classy midfield player with an eye for goal, Laura has been a real driving force behind much of the teams success over the last few years.

Laura is a great leader on the park and also an excellent role model to the younger girls at the club.

On re-signing, Laura said: “I’m pleased to sign for another season. It’s been stop-start for a long time, as well as friendlies fixtures, so I’m looking forward to getting back to competitive football, and a run of games.

“The team has been in a bit of a transition period, in terms of the coaching staff as well as some new players joining the squad.

“It has been really good to get to know the new girls and they are all great additions to the squad.”

On her ambitions for the season, it is clear that the skipper is looking to continue to contribute at the top end of the pitch: “Personally, I cant wait to get back to assisting my team mates on the pitch and also chipping in with some goals. I would love to hit double figures.

“As a team, I think it will be a tough challenge but we can aim to finish in the top four.”

Look out for further announcements of player re-signings, as Dryburgh Athletic Women build up to the start of the 2021/22 season.
