We are delighted to announce that Sophie Aitken will be sponsored by Dundee Bairns for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
Dundee Bairns is a local charity formed in 2016 to initially tackle the problem of holiday hunger for those children who would usually receive free school meals during term time. Since then they have grown enormously in the last few years and have not only run a Fun and Food Programme, getting food into the hands of Dundee's Bairns alongside currently 55 community partners, but also Tea Clubs after school in the cold winter months and Cosy Bairns - a new programme which supports children in accessing basic clothing to help keep them warm in school time. Dundee Bairns pride themselves on being a responsive and fleet-of-foot charity, responding to the needs of local children and helping to address inequalities for children in all areas.
Their facebook page is the best place to see what they do - https://www.facebook.com/dundeebairnscharity
However they also have a website which shows their story and journey as Dundee's charity for children - https://www.dundeebairns.org
Special thanks to Derek Aitken for his generosity and help in making this deal possible.
