What a week for our Dryburgh Girls Graduate Goalkeeper Lilah Farquharson.
U18s star Lilah, along with Development squad Keeper Abbie Reid, has been training with First team Goalkeepers Chantelle McKay and Sarah Paterson for a number of month now. Both young keepers impressing week in week out with positive performances in their club games and training.
With 1st team GK Chantelle McKay picking up a nasty injury against Hutchison Vale, Lilah was given the nod to join the First team squad for last Sundays away SWF Championship league match Vs Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Despite Dryburgh losing out 4-2, Lilah impressed and coped admirably with her Championship debut.
To allow Chantelle more recovery time Lilah kept her place on Tuesday night in the sticks for the unenviable task of facing SWF Championship league leaders Livingston under the floodlights at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
Not only did the youngster excel again, she also played a huge role in a terrific 2-0 win and clean sheet for the Burgh defence.
Lilah joined the list of Dryburgh Athletic Girls graduates a few months back by making her first senior debut in the SWFL North for our Development side.
The future is definitely bright for Dryburgh with a steady stream of talented Goalkeepers coming through the youth pathway.
Well done Lilah and Mon the Goalies!
