Dryburgh Athletic v Westdyke Thistle - match preview

Sunday’s match against Westdyke Thistle sees Dryburgh back in SWF Championship North league action after last weekend’s League Cup adventure. They made the long trip down to the central belt and came away from the Falkirk Stadium with a win and a Championship Cup semi final place, after their 4-1 victory against Falkirk Women.

This weekend ‘Burgh will be hoping to maintain their winning ways in a home tie against Westdyke Thistle. Like Dryburgh, the visitors are the senior team of a large community football club based in Westhill, on the outskirts of Aberdeen. They have had mixed fortunes in the season so far, with 2 wins against Stonehaven and Dundee City West out of their 5 games so far. Westdyke also have a number of girls’ teams right through the whole youth pathway, as well as a women’s development team who play in the North/East league.

Sunday’s match kicks off at 1.30pm at Glenesk Park, Balfield Road (Home of Dundee Violet JFC) - gates open 1pm to supporters.
