Kick off was at the later time of 4pm with New Beechwood hosting its second Dryburgh match of the day after the Championship side kicked off at 12:30pm.

Although relatively cold the weather was looking good but with a prospect of showers expected later in the match.

Dryburgh kicked off and were playing some good possession football in the first opening minutes of the match.

Edinburgh did not take long to get into their stride and it was clear why they are currently sitting third in the table. They started to play the ball about with ease and were causing Dryburgh lots of issues with deep runs splitting the defensive back four with pace aplenty in the forward lines.

The Dryburgh defence having coped well in the first fifteen minutes were finally breached on 19mins when a corner kick was not cleared quickly enough and fell to the Edinburgh forward who calmly slotted home from close range.

Three goals followed in quick succession and although three changes to the Dryburgh lineup stabilised the flow, we still went into the break four goals down.

The expected showers appeared after the half time break but were more ferocious than forecast which, coupled with the chill factor was starting to make playing conditions really challenging for both teams.

Dryburgh started the second half well and were dealing with the Edinburgh pressure but again were finally breached on 66mins when a ball through from midfield, split the Dryburgh defence and the Edinburgh forward made no mistake in putting the ball past the despairing Reid in the Dryburgh net.

Two further goals followed to give Edinburgh a well deserved win and make the long journey home more pleasing.
