100 not out for Katie

09/12/2025

Sunday’s historic Scottish Cup meeting with SWPL champions Hibernian saw Dryburgh Athletic Women give a fantastic account of themselves in extremely challenging conditions, providing everyone connected with the club a day to remember.

For long-serving defender Katie Hassett, the occasion carried even greater significance as it marked her 100th competitive appearance for the club.

Katie first joined Dryburgh in 2020 and has since become a consistent performer and a key member of the squad, with her versatility and experience proving invaluable.

Across her 100 appearances, the tough-tackling defender has scored six goals and earned a winners’ medal in the 2021 Championship Cup. Last season, she was also shortlisted for the SWF Championship Players’ Player of the Year Award, in addition to winning the club’s own version of the award.

Katie was presented with a commemorative Dryburgh “100” jersey before Sundays Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup tie Vs Hibernian. Dryburgh’s John Beatt and Ross James were joined by Hibernian Head Coach Grant Scott and Hibernian Coach and former player Joelle Murray to hand over the jersey.

Congratulations, Katie — here’s to the next 100!
