Dryburgh Athletic 4–3 Maryfield Blacks
Dryburgh Athletic welcomed an in-form Maryfield Blacks side to South Road for an entertaining and hard-fought Tommy Clark Cup tie, with the home side showing real character to book their place in Round 3.
First Half
Dryburgh started the match on the front foot, moving the ball well from kick-off and winning key battles in the middle of the park. Their composure in possession paid off early when a well-worked move from midfield earned a corner. Jude McGrath delivered an excellent ball into the box, where Callum Rennie rose highest to power a header under the crossbar and give Dryburgh a 1–0 lead.
Around ten minutes later, some excellent passing through midfield saw the ball worked wide to Kalin, who collected it well, drove forward and fired a superb strike from the left edge of the box into the top corner to make it 2–0.
Maryfield responded after making a substitution, with the fresh player winning possession in midfield and finishing clinically to pull a goal back.

Second Half
The second half began at a high tempo, with both teams competing fiercely and digging deep. Dryburgh extended their lead when Harry Traynor picked up the ball, drove forward with purpose and finished confidently to make it 3–1.
Maryfield continued to push and were rewarded when a low cross from the right found its way to the back post for a simple finish, reducing the deficit to 3–2. With a few injuries and only one substitute available, Dryburgh were forced into a reshuffle. Following the changes, Maryfield managed to find an equaliser to make it 3–3.
The decisive moment came late in the game. Liam Hart controlled the ball well out wide before producing an outstanding through ball to release Harry Traynor, who drove forward and calmly finished to restore Dryburgh’s lead at 4–3 with just four minutes remaining.
Maryfield threw everything forward in search of a late equaliser, but the grit, determination and defensive resilience shown by the Dryburgh players ensured they held firm until the final whistle.
