Our Women’s Development side kick off the inaugural SWF Development League campaign this Sunday as they welcome Forfar Farmington to New Beechwood Park.
Dryburgh are one of seven teams competing in the North East section of the regionalised format, which runs throughout the second half of the season following the conclusion of the League Cup prior to the Christmas break.
The young Burgh side narrowly missed out on reaching the knockout stages in the League Cup, but there were plenty of positives to take from the competition, with several standout performances along the way as the group continued to develop following what was essentially a complete rebuild over the summer.
Head coach Scott Barclay, who took over the side in the summer, has ensured the team have continued to work hard over the festive period to prepare for the league, stating:
“I’m really looking forward to getting the new Development League started on Sunday. We performed well in the League Cup and have worked hard since then in training, so we are fully prepared to go. It’s an honour to lead the team for the season ahead.”
This promises to be an entertaining opening match, and we hope to see plenty of you there to support the team.
