Respect and Care for New Beechwood Park

08/04/2026

Since the clocks have changed and evenings have become lighter and the school holidays, we have seen an increase in individuals attempting to access New Beechwood Park (NBP) when the facility is closed, unmanned, and securely locked.

Unauthorized entry to NBP, including any attempts to force access, is strictly prohibited. This behaviour is a serious breach of both safety regulations and the law.

Forcing entry puts individuals at risk of injury and compromises the safety and security of the facility for all legitimate users. It also demonstrates a lack of respect for the club and wider community, while leading to unnecessary and often significant repair costs.

We are aware of ongoing incidents involving individuals linked to Dryburgh Athletic teams, and this matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness. Incidents have been reported to the Police and enquiries are being carried out, including reviewing CCTV footage.

NBP operates under strict access procedures. Any attempt to bypass these will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Anyone found forcing entry will face serious consequences, including:

Immediate bans from the facility

Club disciplinary action

Involvement of law enforcement

Continued incidents may also result in wider restrictions affecting associated teams and groups.

We are working closely with local Police and Community Wardens following several incidents over the past week and will continue to take all necessary steps to protect the facility for the benefit of the entire community.

Community Access Sessions

As part of our ongoing commitment to the community, New Beechwood Park will be open this week for supervised “come and play” sessions:

Days: Monday to Friday

Time: 1:30pm – 4:00pm

Cost: £2 per person

Supervision: Club Development Officer, Ryan.

These sessions are being run as a pilot to encourage positive use of the facility and may lead to more opportunities in the future.

We ask all Dryburgh Athletic Community Club coaches, volunteers and our players Parents/Guardians to share this message with our young players and their friends. Ensuring everyone understands the seriousness of this behaviour and the consequences involved.

We appreciate your cooperation.
