Dryburgh Athletic Women return to New Beechwood on Sunday as they welcome Ayr United, looking to build on their positive start to the SWF Championship season.

Dryburgh took maximum points from the two meetings between the sides last season, with a dramatic late goal giving the Burgh a 4-3 win at New Beechwood before they recorded a 3-2 victory in the reverse fixture. It was Ayr, however, who finished higher in the table as they secured a place in the top six.
Dryburgh have made a positive start to the season, following up their opening-day home victory over Rossvale with a good point on the road at Stenhousemuir last week. Hannah Dishington made an impact from the bench, scoring the equaliser to ensure the Burgh maintained their unbeaten start to the season.
Ayr are still looking for their first points of the season but have so far been involved in two close encounters, losing 2-1 to Stirling University on the opening day before suffering a late defeat in a seven-goal thriller against Bonnyrigg last week. They will be keen to put that right on Sunday and certainly have the capabilities to cause Dryburgh problems.
With results over the first two rounds of fixtures proving unpredictable, the Barclays SWF Championship looks to be tighter and more exciting than ever. This game should be no different, with both sides desperate to get points on the board in the early weeks of the campaign.
