MATCH PREVIEW | CUP QUARTER-FINAL
Dryburgh Athletic Women are back in cup action this Sunday as they welcome Greenock Morton Women FC to New Beechwood Park in the Quarter Final of the ScottishPower National League Cup.
With a semi-final spot up for grabs, there’s plenty at stake as the Burgh look to make home advantage count and take another big step in their cup journey!
THE OPPOSITION
Greenock Morton make the trip to Dundee with their own ambitions of reaching the last four.
Cup football brings its own challenges, and Dryburgh will be expecting a determined Morton side looking to cause an upset.
For the Burgh, it’s all about producing a strong performance, making the most of home advantage and keeping those cup dreams alive!
THE ROAD TO THE QUARTER-FINALS
Dryburgh booked their place in the last eight with a dramatic 5-4 extra-time victory over cup holders Bonnyrigg Rose earlier this month.
Having fallen behind on several occasions, the Burgh showed tremendous character to keep fighting back before Layla Dailly grabbed the decisive fifth goal late in extra time!
Morton also needed extra time to progress, scoring three unanswered goals against Inverness Caledonian Thistle to secure a 3-0 victory.
Both sides know what it takes to battle through a difficult cup tie, setting up an exciting quarter-final encounter at NBP!
Dryburgh head into Sunday’s clash determined to go one step further than last season, when they reached the National League Cup Final.
With a place in the semi-finals on the line, Dryburgh will be looking for another big performance in front of the home support!
