MATCH PREVIEW | SWF DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE CUP SEMI-FINAL - 1ST LEG
AYR UNITED DEVELOPMENT vs DRYBURGH ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT
After Storm disruption forced the postponement of last weekend’s scheduled semi-final first leg at New Beechwood Park, Dryburgh Athletic Development will finally get their SWF Development League Cup semi-final campaign underway this Sunday as they travel west to face Ayr United Development.
Sunday 1st November
SWF Development League Cup - Semi-Final 1st Leg
Somerset Park Community Pitch, Ayr
12:00pm Kick-Off
Having originally been set to host the opening leg in Dundee last Sunday, Dryburgh must now make the trip to Ayr for what promises to be an exciting and competitive encounter, with a place in the League Cup final at stake over two legs.
The young Dryburgh side have enjoyed an excellent League Cup campaign, producing some impressive performances along the way to secure their place in the last four.
Their attacking football, togetherness and determination have been key features of their cup run, and they will be looking to carry that momentum into Sunday’s huge semi-final clash.
Standing in their way are a strong Ayr United Development side, who have also impressed throughout the competition and will be determined to make home advantage count in the opening leg.
With both teams having earned their places at this stage of the competition, Sunday’s meeting promises to be a fantastic test for the players.
For Dryburgh, the focus will be on delivering another positive team performance, showing the same work rate and commitment that has served them so well throughout the campaign, and putting themselves in the strongest possible position ahead of the return leg in Dundee.
SEMI-FINAL SUNDAY!
After the disappointment of last weekend’s postponement, the players will be eager to finally get back out on the pitch and take another step towards what would be a fantastic achievement for the Development squad.
We would love to see as many Dryburgh supporters as possible making the journey to Ayr to get behind the girls!
