We are delighted to announce the signing of Emily Burns.
Emily joins our SWF Championship squad for the remainder of the season on loan from SWPL2 side St Johnstone.
Emily’s youth career saw her start of at Crieff Juniors then rise through the ranks at Jeanfield Swifts. Last season, Emily made her first step into denior football, joining the St Johnstone first team squad. The talented player has also had a brief loan spell with Alloa Athletic in the SWFL earlier this year.
Emily had this to say on joining our SWF Championship side “I’m excited to be joining Dryburgh on loan, and to be getting the opportunity to develop and gain more experience as a player, I feel like Dryburgh is the right place to do that.
I’m looking forward to further working with the coaching staff and players and hopefully making some good contributions to the squad".
Dryburgh Athletic Coach Jordan Smith “Emily is a brilliant addition to the squad. She is a player who can add quality, a level of balance and a willingness to work hard and succeed to the squad. She can play in offensive and defensive positions, so is a really good player to have within the squad. A massive thanks to St Johnstone and Mark Nisbet for allowing this deal to be done so quickly".
Emily joined the team for training last night and will go straight into the squad to face Hutchison Vale at Glenesk Park on Sunday 26th March.
