Girls & Womens weekend Fixtures ?

It is set to be a busy weekend with both Dryburgh Athletic Women’s sides action. It also marks the start of the eagerly anticipated 2024 SWF Youth season, with all of our Dryburgh Girls sides raring to get back into competitive football.

Dryburgh Athletic Women face a trip north on Sunday, when they take on Westdyke in the SWF Championship. It was a tight game the last time the sides met as Dryburgh lost out 2-1 at Glenesk back in October.

Burgh have been in good form, with 2 wins from 3 since the winter break, and will hope to build on that in the Granite City this Sunday.

Another of our teams in good form are the Women’s Development side, with an impressive victory over Buchan last time out. They face their shortest league trip of the season on Sunday when they head to Arbroath.

It was a thrilling game when the sides met just last month, with Burgh taking the spoils in a 3-2 win, and its is set up to be another interesting game on the Angus coast again.

Dryburgh Athletic Girls U14’s make the step up from U12’s when they make the short trip to take on Blairgowrie.

They have prepared well with several friendly matches over the last few weeks and now look forward to putting that preparation to the test on Saturday.

Head Coach Alan Paterson, said: “The U14’s coaches are very excited about the upcoming season.

“We have a young but talented team who are looking forward to getting back on the pitch and showcasing their skills.”

Our U12 Maroons welcome Scone Thistle to Lochee Park on Saturday for their league opener.

They are another side that have worked hard over the winter to continue their development. U12’s Maroons Head Coach, Tam Allan, comented: “I would like to thank the players and coaches for their hard work and dedication during pre season. We have been working with the girls on new training drills and they have taken everything on board, they’ve been great. Also like to thank all the parents for support that we get week in week out.

“I am looking forward to the season ahead we know we will come across alot of challenges but I am confident with the girls working as a close knit team that we will have a great season this year”

Our Sky Blues U12’s get their competitive season up and running with a trip to face Dundee East Reds on Saturday.

They are another side that have had a busy schedule over pre-season and are looking to hit the ground running now in the new campaign. Sky Blues Coach, Ross Barty, said: “We are all really excited about the upcoming season. We want to continue the momentum and positive energy from last season and help the girls push on to the next level again”

Dryburgh Athletic Girls Maroons U10’s start their season with a home game, they welcome Dundee East Whites to Lochee on Saturday.

The young Burgh side have been working hard and, more importantly, enjoying their football over the winter. Their coach, Paul Brown, told us: “I am looking forward to the new season kicking off on Saturday.

“The girls have been working really hard and improving each week and they can’t wait to get back enjoying their Saturday games”

All the best to all involved
